Layman report
The MICROPHILOX project was concluded in March 2009. Results obtained can be considered as a promising market-led solution for realizing renewable energy potential from Europe’s landfill biogas. Read more.
Prizes
The high development degree of the MICROPHILOX project has been recognized by several well-known environmental prizes:
- IX Garrigues Medio Ambiente- Expansión Awards, in the Innovation, Development and Application of Best Technologies category. The award was presented by the Spanish Minister of Environment on 29 November 2006. The objective of these prizes is to public acknowledge the effort that Spanish companies do in benefit of the environment.

Energy Globe Award. Last 10th April, Mr. Paul Rübig, Member of the European Parliament and also member of the Industry, Research and Energy European Committee, presented the MICROPHILOX project with the Energy Globe Award in the national category.
The ENERGY GLOBE (www.energyglobe.info) is awarded to projects from all over the world which make careful and economical use of resources and employ alternative energy sources and nowadays are the most prestigious and acknowledged environmental awards.
- Bionergy Silver 2008 awarded by ATEGRUS.
The European Commission has also selected the MICROPHILOX project as one of the BEST LIFE Environmental projects finished during 2009. The project will receive an award plaque during the ceremony which will be hen on 2nd June in Brussels during Green Week.

- Publication in the specialized waste magazine INFOENVIRO, number May 07, an article called ‘Vertedero controlado de residuos de la comarca de Osona con tratamiento de lixiviados y biogás’. Read more.
- Publication in economical newspaper EXPANSIÓN an article of the progress of the MICROPHILOX project a year after getting the Medio Ambiente Garrigues Award. 4th quarter 2006
- Participation of CESPA in the ‘Foro pro clima Madrid’, inaugurated in June 2008, and publication of the MICROPHILOX experience in the Companies environmental initiatives brochure. Read more.
